There is one big difference between Curve 9380 and Curve 9360/9370 in the matter of body design. The newest one for 9380 comes with Touch Bar from factory without any physical qwerty keyboard, on the contrary the 9370/60 uses the candybar form factor with physical qwerty keyboard. Following this form factor difference, the display screen also has a big gap, the 9380 uses 3.2 inches with TFT Capacitive touchscreen and 9370 only uses 2.44 inches (measured diagonally) with non touchscreen display (TFT also).

If you looking for the image of BB Curve 9380 and you place it side by side with the image of Curve 9370 or 9360 or 9350, It seems that the 9370/60/50 are not the previous version of 9380. The design of 9380 is totally differences in all aspect. It seems 9380 is jumping for evolutionary BB Curve series. For the closer look, it seem that the full touchscreen design similar to BB Torch series, instead.

Actually, as you can see at the figure above, the design follow the “blackberry style design with the physical qwerty keyboard on candybar form factor”. But the button keys, the edge corner design is represent a porsche like with squared button with cut stripping, and cut edge bottom corner. The BlackBerry Curve 9350–rumored as BB Curve Sedona– is the Curve with BB OS 7 which specially designed for CDMA Data Networks technology. On the contrary, the BlackBerry Curve Apollo (the name that supposed to be used by BlackBerry Curve 9360), is using GSM Data Networks technology (supports HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA at three band 850 / 1900 / 2100 Mhz), and the last one for BlackBerry Curve 9370 uses the combinations between those CDMA and GSM, which means supports for CDMA Card and GSM Card ( CDMA2000 1xEV-Do with EV-DO Rev.A up to 3.1 Mbps). And this is the “main difference” that distinguished between BB Curve 9350, 9360 and 9370.

We ever wrote about BlackBerry Torch 9800 Slide before and also share its User Guide / User Manual. As you might knew BB Torch 9800 runs on BlackBerry 6 OS, but if you are wanna knew the news series of BlackBerry Torch for 98xx which already run BlackBerry OS 7 (BB 7 Operating System), the answers is BlackBerry Torch 9810–the one that we wanna discuss at this post. Furthermore, BlackBerry 7 OS and BlackBerry 6 OS is the “main” difference between Torch 9810 and 9800, although there are also some other differences between these two.

If you are wondering what the others differences between these two, let start talking about it. First the release date. The 9800 released on August 2010 and for second generation 2nd 9810 released on August 2011. Of course this release date made this phone also differ in hardware manners. The Torch 9810 already armored with 1.2 GHz processor with 768MB RAM and 8GB internal storage, compare to Torch 9800 which only has 634MHz Processor and 512RAM / 512ROM and “only” has 4GB internal storage memory. The other difference are on TouchScreen Resolution. 9810 uses VGA 480 x 640 pixels but 9800 only uses 360 x 480 pixels resolution (HVGA). And for the rest it seems both of them are the same except the availability color casing (9800; Black, White, Dark Orange | 9810 only Dark colors – as you can see at the figure above)

As long as we knew after making a fast comparison, we noticed that the only difference between BB Torch 9860 and 9850 is on the Data Networks Technology, the Torch 9860 only supports for GSM and for Torch 9850 support both GSM and CDMA. Therefore even both of them can works using GSM 3G Technology with HSDPA 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76Mbps, in addition, the Torch 9850 also supports for CDMA 3G EV-DO Rev A up to 3.1Mbps. All the rest (Specs and Features) are almost the same.

Blackberry Torch 9860 / 9850 uses Touch Bar form factor (Candy bar with Touch UI), and equipped with TFT Capacitive Touchscreen (Transmissive TFT LCD) at 16M Colors (24 bit display). It has Optical trackpad for navigation (something that usually being used in BB Phone), and also for the diagonal screen it has about 3.7 inched diameter. The Display that has WVGA 480 x 800 pixels (253 ppi) resolution also embedded with Proximity Sensor as a sensor to get auto turn off and lock of the screen display while in the middle of calling usage, and also, as usual, the Auto Rotate Orientation feature using Accelerometer sensor. Multi Touch input method also supports.
