Did you know that HTC EVO Design 4G is also known by others name? If you answer is yes, that a good for you, but if you don’t know the answer we will give it to you. HTC EVO Design 4G (HTC ED4G) has two alternative alias name. One for HTC Kingdom and the second one is known as HTC Hero 4G, but it been officially named as EVO Design 4G, both mentioned in Sprint Website and HTC Website (Official).

Although the EVO Design 4G comes as a new Smartphone by HTC, the specs and features installed and embedded in the ED4G has a lower specs in some aspects than the previous EVO Series, the HTC EVO 4G but has higher specs in some other parts (both of this EVO series comes with Sprint Carrier – US Region). Let make a short comparison for this EVO Design 4G and EVO 4G to understand the basic differences between these two.

The main differences between EVO Design 4G and EVO 4G occurred on some main keys features; the display screen size (would be affect also on the dimension size body and its weight), the RAM, the rear facing camera, the Android Version and of course the processor. Of course you can also find the basic tutorial and guidance such as how you can set up your device, how to turn on the phone of to use sprint account and sprint service, how to pairing the bluetooth, how to use the touchscreen navigation, rearrange the home screen, customize the homescreen, learn about notification bar, enter text, typing message, make or receive call, add contact, set the alarm clock, connect the Wi-Fi and many more.

And specially for how you can insert the microSD Card Memory (external storage), you can see the image on the right. If you don’t know how to open the back cover, please go to “PDF Download” Tab section. In there you can find the image tutorial on how you can open the back cover casing compartment properly. Otherwise, you still able to read and find the tutorial directly on the User Guide of HTC EVO Design 4G at page 52 under the sub-section of “microSD Card”.

But if the case you wanna reset your phone to original setting (factory default), you can find the help guideline how to do that on page 76. The steps instruction to do these usually name it as Factory Data Reset aka Hard Reset aka Master Reset. Here are the steps you had to follows: Touch Home > Menu > Settings > SD & phone storage > Factory data reset > select also Erase SD Card > Erase Phone > Erase Everything > wait till it done (up to 10 minutes). Second way: Turn of the EVO Design 4G > Press hold the volume down button then press the Power button > Screen appears (just like turn on) > Release volume down button > Select the Factory Reset with volume down button > Confirm it with Power button > Done

Now, let make the details on the differences between EVO 4G and EVO Design 4G. If EVO 4G comes with large 4.3 inches display screen, on the other hand, the EVO Design 4G has “only” 4 inches in its diagonal diameter screen. This make the dimension size and weight of the phone also differ. The weight of HTC EVO Design 4G is 147.4 grams (EVO 4G has 170 grams) and dimension size for 121.9 mm x 61 mm x 11.9 mm (EVO 4G with 122 mm x 66 mm x 13 mm).

Although the display screen is wider for EVO 4G, the resolution screen winner is the EVO Design 4G. ED4G comes with 540 x 960 pixels qHD and for EVO 4G only WVGA 480 x 800 pixels resolution. This qHD resolution on 4.0″ screen make this ED4G has about 375 ppi pixel density. One more differences regarding with the screen is that the EVO 4G attached with TFT Capacitive Touchscreen 65K colors, but for EVO Design 4G embedded with Super LCD Capacitive Touchscreen (S-LCD).

And for the Hardware, the EVO Design 4G installed with 4GB eMMC ROM and 768MB RAM with MSM 8655 chipset form Qualcomm at 1.2GHz speed, compare to EVO 4G “only” armored with 1GHz Processor with Qualcomm QSD8650 chipset and installed only with 1GB ROM and 512MB RAM. At this specs, EVO Design 4G is the winner. The winning condition also applied for EVO Design 4G on the matter of Operating System. The HTC ED4G powered with Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 version which contrary Android Eclair 2.1 installed in EVO 4G.

The Camera. On the matter of specs Megapixel quality, EVO 4G comes wtih 8MP Camera with dual-LED Flash but for EVO Design 4G only uses 5MP Camera with LED Flash. Though for autofocues, capability on geotagging the photos, capable to record up to 720p video and front facing 1.3MP camera for both of the phone are the same.

Along with Sprint Carrier, the 4G in EVO Design means that this phone capable to be used under fourth generation (4G) of Data Networks technology with WiMAx 802.16 e. The phone also supports for 3G networks, EDGE, GPRS, and also EVDO Rev.A up to 3.1Mbps, HSDPA and HSUPA also supports. Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi portable hotspot, microUSB v2.0 with 4 pin, Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR also another connectivity features available in ED4G. For the battery it uses 1520mAh Li Ion battery. The phone also has GPS, has FM Radio, and uses ROM version 1.11.651.0. For the memory it included with microSD external card for 8GB (up to 32GB).
