We found something that make us confused regarding the RAM Hardware specifications that been attached in HTC Magic for Vodafone. In the Official Specifications Page, it been written that the HTC Magic equipped with 288 MB RAM, on the contrary, at the Specifications Section inside the PDF User Guide / User Manual of the HTC Magic, it said that the Phone only attached with 192 MB of RAM. We don’t know which one provide the corrects information or it could be that in some region, the RAM available in different specs.
Because we already discussed about the RAM embedded in the Phone, lets dig more about the Hardware Specs come with HTC Magic for Vodafone. The Core: along with 192 RAM (according to PDF Manual Specs), the Phone also installed with Qualcomm MSM7200A chipset at 528 MHz ARM 11 Processor Speed (Adreno 130 GPU) and has 512 MB of ROM. Although the HTC Magic supports for microSD memory expansion slot, we couldn’t find any information about the maximum capacity that can be covered up by this Phone (might be up to 4GB).
Android 1.5 Cupcake, officially been installed as Mobile Operating System of HTC Magic. In some Region HTC Magic OS can be upgraded into Android Eclair (Android 2.0), such as in Canada that came with Roger Carrier. Because we wanna talk about the HTC Magic for Vodafone, let forget about it (HTC Magic+ for Roger). Along with Vodafone, the Magic supports HSPA / HSDPA or WCDMA Data networks technology at 900/2100 MHz (up to 2Mbps upload and 7.2 Mbps download speedsand also Quad Band GSM (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz.
The Design: As you can see at the picture above, the HTC Magic come with Full Touch Screen User Interface with Candy Bar form factor (we can called as Touch Bar ff) and also has Trackball with Enter button. In our opinion, the design quite satisfied the style and handle capability. It only has 116g / around 4 ounces weight (with battery). The Display Screen used 3.2 inches TFT LCD Touch Sensitive Screen with HVGA Resolution at 320 x 480 pixels. HTC Magic User Manual Quick Start Guide Vodafone Resume
The Picture that we posted below, can be found at page 13 and 14, under “Getting to Know…” sections on User Guide / User Manual of HTC Magic for Vodafone. It would help you to understand the keys and its functions available in the body of the Phone, for example the Power, Search button, Home button, and also the Trackball.
Under sections 5.3 the “Using Bluetooth”, you can learn how you can use the bluetooth devices of HTC magic to connect to others Bluetooth devices, including how to pairing between two bluetooth devices in one time process or how to turning it on or off. It can be read from page 70 and 71. If you like to know how you can use the Phone to browser to world wide web you can go to the page 63 and page 64. It would help you with detail instruction tutorial how you can use Networks connection to connect to the Internet or using Wi-Fi Wireless internet connection (connect to Hotspot area / access point).
How about using the 3.2 MP Camera? Don’t worry, almost all the features that available in the HTC Magic has it own tutorial / guideline that would guarantee you to use it in proper ways. If you like to know how to use the Camera or Camcorder Video (including switched between two of them) just go to page 80 and 81 of the User Manual and read the rest of the instruction.
Another available step by steps tutorial that you might wanna know: Changing the Setting such as Date, Language, Time can be found at page 95, Setting Alarm Clock and Calendar can be read from page 44 to page 47. HTC Magic Vodafone Specifications
We already talk some of specifications of HTC Magic at the Overview Section, let dig more about the HTC Spec Detail. For connectivity features, the Phone included with Bluetooth version 2.0 with EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) also supports A2DP Bluetooth Profile for Wireless Stereo Headsets (it a must if you wanna listed Audio / Music with wireless bluetooth headsets). For Internet Connection, you can use WiFi WLAN IEEE 802.11 b,g whenever you are in the area of Access Point Hotspot and you are allowed to connect to the Networks (some area need a security code or pass key).
For High Data Transfer through USB slot, the HTC Magic equipped with HTC ExtUB with 11 pin min USB version 2.0 and Audio Jun in one slot). For Camera (photography features), the HTC Magic for Vodafone embedded in the rear body of the phone (see the image above) with 3.2 Megapixel Color Camera (some source wrote only has 3.15MP) along with Automatic Focus (AutoFocus), Digital Zoom, Image Editor (Up to 2048 x 1536 pixels Image size) and also Video Recording as a Camcorder (capable to create video up to 15fps QVGA).
For Multimedia Player the HTC supports for AAC, MP3 AMR NB, MIDI, WMA, WAV, AAC LC, and OGG Audio formats (Music Player) and for Video Player it supports MP4 and 3GP formats. Using Android OS from Google, it means the HTC Magic also installed with Google Mobile Services such as Android Market for availability of Games and Applications that ready to be downloaded, Google Talk, Google Mail, Google Maps, Google Latitude, YouTube, and more.
