If you wanna count of the HTC One series that we already wrote in this site, you’ll notice that this HTC One S is the third phone from HTC One family. Previously we already wrote HTC One X (the best performance and the largest display), and also HTC One V (the second one).

We aren’t gonna talk about the difference between those three, instead we just talk the deep side of this HTC One S only.

One S comes with touch bar form factor which designed using Super AMOLED Capacitive touchscreen for 4.3 inches. It has 540 x 960 pixels resolution. If we made ranking system for the HTC One series, the HTC One S placed on the second rank. From the best would be like this: HTC One X > HTC One S > HTC One V. It including the performances like the Processor, RAM or Memory, and also the size of the design body and screen.

Wanna do screen shot of you phone in order to memorize your game score or update status of your friends, or just capture the website in your HTC One S?

To do screenshot with hardware combination, it can be done just exactly like other Android Smartphone: Press and Hold the power button (below 1 seconds) and immediately press the Home key. Done. You can open the saved screen shot in Gallery. See the detail instruction about this at page 20 under “Capturing the HTC one S screen” section.

There is a big difference between the term of “Restarting” and “Resetting”. If you wanna restart (sometime also called soft reset aka reboot), you just neet to Turn the power of HTC One Off the turn it on again. Or Press and Hold Power button, then tab restart.

If you wanna do “resetting the HTC One S” you need to perform factory reset. This should be done for the final steps if you couldn’t figure out the problem which happen on your phone (such as stop responding or setting got fuzzed). How to do master reset aka hard aka factory data reset? Go to Notifiaction panel > Tab Settings > Storage > Factory data reset > Reset phone > Erase Everything. Read it on page 180.

Erase evertthing means that your One S would be back to its original with no additional data such as video that you been record, image that you been captured or games and applications that you already installed. All would be gone. So, back up back up first!

The screen has about 256 ppi pixel density (in iphone it would be called as retina display), and for the size of the body it uses 130. 9 x 65 x 7.8 mm with 119.5 grams. For the full design, We wouldn’t say anything. It just good enough just like previous touch bar smartphone by HTC (added a little rounded four corner).

For the hardware, the One S uses Dual core 1.5GHz Krait with Qualcomm MSM8260S Snapdragon chipset and Adreno 225 for Graphic Processing Unit. It also has 1GB RAM and 16GB internal built in memory. There is no additional microSD card slot for extended external memory capacity.

Just like its brother HTC One V and One X, the Operating system also uses the latest version of Android OS: The Android Ice Cream Sandwich aka Android OS version 4.0. It support for Beats Audio, has Google Applications preloaded including Google Maps, Gtalk, YOutube, Gmail, Google Search and more.

For the Camera it capable to be used as video recording self shot or video calling. These can be obtained because the One S has dual camera for 8 Megapixel in the rear side and the one for video calling in the front facing VGA camera. HD Video up to 1080@30fps also one of the capability features along with geo-tagging, face and smile detection, stereo soun recording, digital zoom and auto or touch focus.

The Bluetooh uses version 4.0, the USB uses version 2.0 support for MHL for TV-out, and of course the Wi-Fi with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA and Direct Wi-Fi transfer or Wi-Fi portable hotspot also available. The data networks support for GSM technology both 2G and 3G. Including GPRS / EDGE, HSDPA and HSUPA.
