I will give you the tech specs of LG Optimus Slider, but all the details of the specifications that we wrote at this phone are derived from Datasheet Specifications PDF (the download link available on “PDF Download” section, along with its User Guide / User Manual). The LG VM701 (series name of Optimus Slider) that we gonna share at here is the one which been bundled with Virgin Mobile Carrier. It works under CDMA Technology supports for EVDO Rev.A up to 3.1 Mbps. There are also other version for Optimus Slider wich uses LS700 as series name which also known as LG Gelato Q (not sure with the carrier along with this LS700 version).
Just like its name, Optimus Slider comes with Slide side form factor design with Physical four rows Qwerty Keyboard. Anyone who prefer on using qwerty keyboard for typing message or email, would be in love with this LG Optimus Slider. The Display also quite large. It uses 3.2 inches Capacitive Touchscreen (TFT), which has 320 x 480 pixels resolution with 16M colors. If you don’t wanna use the Qwerty, you can still user the onscreen qwerty keyboard on the touchscreen in which it provided the ability to auto rotate with accelerometer sensor. The proximity to save a energy consume on calling mode by turn the screen off automatically also available.

Until this time I wrote this post, I couldn’t find the Quick Start Guide PDF for this Optimus Slider. The only PDF File that I found are the eDatasheet Specifications, and two User Manual available in English and Spanish. The one that we gonna review / resume at this section is the User Guide for English version. The picture that we gave you below also we got from this English one.

The Factory data reset can be perform by visiting the Privacy settings. The tutorial to do this can be found on page 123 of the User Manual of the VM701. Here are the resume of the instructional steps which you can follow (please back up you data before doing it): Press Home key > Touch Menu Keys > Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset > Reset phone > Erase Everything > Done.

LG Optimus Slider VM701 Virgin Mobile Technical Specifications
Optimus Slider powered with 800Mhz Processor (not sure with ARM or Qualcomm) and has 512MB RAM with 512 ROM too. For the internal user memory, the Optimus Slider attached with 150MB storage memory with also has additional 2GB included microSD card (the slot supports up to 32GB). For the operating system, it installed with Gingerbread OS by google for the version of Android 2.3. This means that some of google mobile service such as Google Maps, Google Place, Latitude, Google Search, even Google Maps Navigation with spoken turn by turn direction also available. Android Market, Gmail, Gtalk, Youtube also did not missed.
Oh, I’m sorry. I almost forgot the dimension (in closed mode) of the VM701 body (though I had discussed the display of this phone), so do the weight. Here are the dimension size of Optimus Slider (and the weight): 4.53 inches x 2.32 inches x 0.58 inches and 5.51 ounce (equal to 115 mm x 58.9 mm x 14mm and 156 grams).
I seem there is no Wi-Fi on this Optimus Slider VM701, but we heard that for the Optimus Slider VM700 there is a Wi-Fi available in there (including for Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi hotspot / portable mobile hotspot — as a router). Nevertheless, the only connection to the internet that you can have on this VM701 is via mobile data networks (packet data) which sometime you been charged on using it by the Carrier. Bluetooth v3.0 plus EDR and microUSB 2.0 are available. Note: We aren’t sure about this, due to the eDatasheet of the Optimus Slider VM701 didn’t have the Wi-Fi listed in the specs overview, but on the contrary, on the User Manual, there is a tutorial how to using the Wi-Fi including how to connect it to Wi-Fi network.
For the Camera, the Optimus Slider attached with 3.2 Megapixel Autofocus camera at the rear of the body. It also has capability to record video and geo tagging location, and 4 times digital zoom. Image editor to do basic editing such as cropping, rotating also installed.
WMA, WMV, MP3, MP4, 3GP, 3G2, AAC, WAV, AAC+ are some of video and audio formats that can be played on Music Player or Video Player at Optimus Slider. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, can be got also by visiting Android Market and download the application from there. LG Optimus Slider Manual User Guide VM701 Virgin Mobile PDF Download
From the picture that we embedded below, we can concluded that there is no instruction tutorial how we can insert and install the SIM card. It might because the phone had “bundled” with Virgin Mobile carrier. But for the help on inserting the microSD card (2GB included in the package), how to remove and assemble battery and open back cover casing tutorial, it were available in the User Manual of Optimus Slider VM701.
