As far as I know, the Lumia 800 is the first Smartphone released in the end of this year (2011) as a product by Nokia and Microsoft (the agreement between those to which been signed in the early of 2011). Yep, the Nokia Lumia 800 powered with Microsoft Windows Phone Operating System. It installed with Windows Phone 7.5 (version) or known as Windows Phone Mango.
Unfortunately, this phone that also known as Nokia Sea Ray didn’t have a front facing camera. Which means the Lumia 800 can’t be used for video calling. This absolutely one of bad point comes from this first Nokia with WP (Windows Phone) OS. Some of the owners of Nokia 800 (we do a little googling about this, got a info about this bad news, though It’s not always comes like this, just a warning) also reported that the bluetooth wireless connection sometime didn’t work properly and can’t be used to transfer a file or data. But, for the rest, it seems this phone have a great point and this phone should be in everyone wishing list.Let elaborate more.
The Smartphone that has three optional colors chooser (see on the “Specifications” section tab to get a clear image for the three of them), the Black, Cyan, and Magenta (the one which figure it on the picture above is Cyan color version, some region the color only available for Cyan as one and the only) comes with square hard edge corner design with touch bar form factor and along side WP Mango, it powered with 1.4 GHz Scorpion CPU Speed with Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset. There is no microSD card slot but it has built in memory storage up to 16GB (the real storage lower than this due to preloaded installed applications and settings, depend on these). Works with 1.4GHz Processor is the 512MB RAM. And for the graphic processor, it uses Adreno 205 GPU.
Nokia Lumia 800 Manual User Guide Quick Resume
Although the content which available on the User Manual are quite simple and “quick on surface”, but I really appreciate that any of User Guide wrote by Nokia always available in Multi Language (almost all language by country are available, see it at here. We’ll gave you five of them directly on “PDF Download” tab section).
Back to the contents of UG. The one (the picture) that we gave you below is an edited and arranged (by me, aka this site), originally from keys parts tutorial which available on page 6 and 7 of the User Guide of Lumia 800. The picture that we shared are had a better “shape” and tutorial that the original one of UG. You can learn directly where is the Power key or lock key button, the Search, Back, and Start Keys, Volume keys and microUSB, SIM card holder and else.
If you want to try to use the bluetooth connectivity for example to be works with wireless stereo headset, you can find the tutorial how to connect and pairing it with them on page 74 and 75. Otherwise, another connectivity such as about Wi-Fi and the tutorial how to use it to be able to access the internet via your Lumia 800, the guidance instruction can be found if you jump onto page 39 and 40.
If you want to update your phone software aka OS in case there updated version are available, you need to use Zune PC applications to do that. It is also including how you can downgrade to original default software version aka restore it. See page 76 and 77 for deep elaboration tutorial.
We have to say sorry that after made a little fast reading and search, we aren’t able to find the tutorial how to make Master / Hard Reset or sometime also named as Factory data reset on the Nokia Lumia 800 User Guide PDF. But to do soft reset aka rebooting the device all you need to do just press and hold the power button for about 10 second to turn off the phone and the press the power button again to switch the Lumia 800 on.
Not having a factory reset tutorial might be a huge lost on the User Guide of this phone, but how about we personally make a “guess” steps instruction to do this. Here are the steps that we guess can be done to perform factory data reset on Lumia 800: Home > Tab Menu (by right arrow) > Settings > System > About > reset your phone > do the rest.
Btw, looking for how to set the alarm, just read on page 67, page 68 is for calendar guidance, how about finding your way home or go to office maps? Read on using the turn by turn navigation on page 65 including Voice guidance using Nokia Drive (also using Bing Maps). There also tutorial how to use the camera, taking picture, and much more.
