The first info regarding with Samsung Gem SCH I100 is the fact that the Gem by samsung only available for CDMA technology networks (world wide) and of course it will not work on any GSM Networks. The Gem currently announced on January 2011 and soon would be available in the market. The Design simply using the Touch Bar / Tablet form factor with Touchscreen UI and also Swype Text Input Technology.

The Display for the Touch Screen used 3.2 inch Diameter at 240 x 400 pixels Resolutions and has onboard internal memory 124 MB which could be microSD expandable up to 16GB. The Phone embedded with 800MHz Speed CPU Processor and run under Android Platform (Andoid OS Version 2.1 Eclair). Unfortunately, beside it did not supports GSM Networks, it also did not support 3G CDMA (only used 2G Networks CDMA 800/1900); but it has WLAN / WIFi for fast internet connection through hotspot area.

The Camera that also belong to Samsung Gem also used quite good enough for instant Photography. It used 3.2 Megapixel Camera, along with Digital Camera, and also Video Recording ability. For Music Player it supports these following Audio formats: WAV, MP3, WMA, MIDI, SP-MIDI, ARM NB, ARM-WB, AAC, eAAC+, AAC+. For Video it supports MP4, H.263, H.264. The Samsung SCH I100 also has Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP wireless stereo headsets, microUSB version 2.0, Games, Java, and others.

Of course because it used Android Mobile Phone Operating System by Google, the Gem also installed with Google Maps, Google Talk, GMail, Android Market, Google Latitude, YouTube, Google Place, Google Navigation, Google Search (Voice Search available) and more.

We couldn’t make sure whether the Samsung Gem has WiFi and GPS or not. Some source said it didn’t have but it actually available in the User Manual of the Samsung Gem SCH I100.

As we said above, some resources of specification of Samsung Gem (for example gsmarena.com) said ithat the Phone did had WLAN / Wi-Fi, but at page of 74 inside User Manual of Samsung Gem, you can find the instruction manual on how to use the Wi-Fi (turning Wi-Fi on / off, Configuring WiFi, connects to Access Point and many more) under Section 10: Connections. And at page 75 you can learn how to use Bluetooth such as step by step how to pairing it with other Bluetooth device or unpairing it.
